Swimmer of the Week

Amberle Biedermann, Penn State

Biedermann has been named Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season after she placed in the top two in all four events she competed in. The senior and her 200-yard freestyle relay team swam to an NCAA "A" qualifying time in 1:36.03 fashion. She also claimed two NCAA "B" standard marks as she earned first in the 200 butterfly in 2:00.40 and helped her 200 medley relay team place second with a time of 1:43.76. The Colorado Springs, Colo. native tallied another second place finish in the 100 butterfly in 56.51. Biedermann's last weekly honor was Nov. 29, 2005.

 

Diver of the Week

Chelsea Davis, Northwestern

FR, Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne

Davis picks up her third weekly honor this in her freshman campaign as she has been named Diver of the Week after sweeping both the one and three-meter diving events for the third time this season. She scored 291.67 points on the one-meter board, defeating the rest of the competition by more than 23 points. Davis went on to claim a 38-point victory on the three-meter competition and was the only diver to break the 300 mark with a score of 336.29. SHe has also been honored on Nov. 15 and Dec. 6, 2005.
