Big Ten Announces Women's Swimming and Diving Awards

The conference office announced on Tuesday the weekly women's swimming and diving honors. Penn State's Amy Modglin earns Swimmer of the Week honors while Minnesota's Kelci Bryant takes home weekly diving laurels.
Women's Swimmer of the Week
Penn State's Amy Modglin entered four events and won three during a triple-dual meet at Maryland as she led Penn State to victories over the host Terrapins as well as Pittsburgh and Villanova. The sophomore eclipsed the NCAA provisional time in both the 200-yard backstroke (1:57.38) and the 400 individual medley (4:19.40), also winning the 200 freestyle (1:50.36). In addition, she earned a third-place finish in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 16:53.81.

Women's Diver of the Week
Minnesota's Kelci Bryant captured two titles on the way to a 196-101 team victory over Missouri in a dual meet on Saturday. The defending national champion took first-place in the one-meter and three-meter diving events with season-best scores on both boards. The junior scored 338.32 points in the one-meter event and 366.52 in the three-meter event. This is the second weekly award for Bryant, as she also earned the honor on Dec. 7.
