Swimmer of the Week

Leila Vaziri, Indiana
SO, Coral Springs, Fla./Coral Springs
Vaziri led the Hoosiers with five event titles, including four NCAA provisional times, in a loss to Penn State (211-158).  Her individual victories came in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke events as she touched first in B-cut times of 55.13 and 2:00.76, respectively.  The Coral Springs, Fla., native was also part of the 200-, 400- and 800-yard freestyle relay squads that each claimed first place finishes and swam the leadoff leg in the 200-yard medley relay (1:43.85) that finished in second.

This is Vaziri's first weekly honor of her career and the first for a Hoosier since Brooke Taflinger and Lindsay Weigle swept the Conference laurels on Oct. 22, 2003.
