Penn State and Minnesota Tabbed Swimmer and Diver of the Week

Penn State's Chelsea Weedman and Minnesota's Kelci Bryant have been named the Big Ten women's Swimmer and Diver of the week respectively, the conference office announced on Tuesday. Women's Swimmer of the Week Penn State's Chelsea Weedman won two events and finished second in another while leading Penn State to a 123-120 victory over No. 15 Michigan last weekend. In the 200-meter individual medley, Weedman eclipsed the NCAA provisional time, clocking in at 2:01.33, over a full second faster than the next closest competitor. In the 200-butterfly, she recorded an additional NCAA provisional time of 2:00.28. Weedman also finished second in the 200-breaststroke with a time of 2:16.21. Last Penn State Women's Swimmer of the Week: Amy Modglin (Jan. 17, 2011) Women's Diver of the Week Minnesota's Kelci Bryant collected two titles in the springboard events last weekend as the Gophers competed in the Big Ten Duals. Against Purdue, the junior took first place in the one-meter and three-meter diving events with respective scores of 340.15 and 397.35. Bryant's score of 397.35 on the three-meter springboard set her season best record. This marks Bryant's third weekly award of the season.
