Wisconsin Claims Lead After Day One of 2012 Big Ten Championships

Wisconsin jumped out to a slight lead after Wednesday's opening session at the 2012 Big Ten Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. The Badgers tallied 72 points, followed closely by Indiana with 68. Minnesota sits in third with 66 points, with Ohio State at 64. Penn State and Purdue are tied for fifth place with 54 points.

The Badgers began the evening with a victory in the 200 medley relay (1.37.34), while the Hoosiers posted a Big Ten record and NCAA automatic qualifying time in the 800 freestyle relay event (7:00.82).

Action continues on Thursday with preliminaries set for 11 a.m. CT, with the finals set for 6:30 p.m.
