Minnesota Leads After Day Two of Championships

Minnesota jumps into first place behind a first-place finish and one second-place time at the 2012 Big Ten Championships. Through seven events, the Gophers have recorded 235 points. Ohio State sits in second with 222 points, with Indiana in third with 203 points. Wisconsin is fourth with 174 points, while Penn State rounds out the top-five with 118.5 points.
Wisconsin's team of Rebecca Johnson, Ivy Martin, Rebecka Palm and Ruby Martin took home the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:28.46. Minnesota's Ashley Steenvoorden placed first in the 500 freestyle with an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 4:38.00. Indiana's Allysa Vavra also posted an automatic qualifying in the 200 individual medley (1:55.44). Wisconsin's Rebecca Thompson took home the 50 freestyle (22.04), while Ohio State's Bianca Alvarez claimed the one-meter event (360.65).
