With one day remaining in the Big Ten Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, Indiana garners the top spot with 529 total points. Holding down second place is Minnesota with 457 points. Penn State and Michigan sit in third and fourth place, respectively with 289 and 281 team points.
Indiana came away with three event champions in Kate Zubkova (100-yard backstroke), Christina Loukas (three-meter dive) and the Hoosier 400 medley relay team. The Gophers also claimed three gold medals in Jenny Shaughnessy (400 individual medley), Meredith McCarthy (200 freestyle) and Jillian Tyler (100 breaststroke). Michigan earned one top podium spot in Caroline Rodriguez (100 butterfly).
Big Ten swimmers and divers return to Canham Natatorium on Saturday morning (Feb. 21) for the fourth and final day of the Big Ten Championships. Preliminaries begin at 11 a.m. with diving at 1 p.m. and swimming finals at 6:30 p.m. Live Video is available throughout the event on MGoBlue.com.
