Wisconsin In Ninth After Day 1 of the NCAA Championships

At the conclusion of Day 1 at the 2009 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Divining Championships, Big Ten squads posted some of the top marks against the best competition in the country.  Wisconsin fronts the conference so far in ninth place, earning 46.5 points.  Indiana follows closely behind in the 12th position as the Hoosiers totaled 38 team points.  Minnesota recorded 35 points while holding down the 14th spot.  Purdue garnered 26 points after the first day as the Boilermakers sit in 16th.  Michigan rounds out the conference contingent of teams who earned Day 1 points as the Wolverines tallied 11.

Competition resumes on Friday morning at 10 a.m. CT with the prelims of the 200-yard medley relay.
