Through Tuesday, the Big Ten will highlight each of the 24 student-athletes nominated for the conference's Athlete of the Year awards. Award winners are voted on by a pre-selected media panel and will be announced next week.

Casey Matthews – Purdue – Women’s Swimming & Diving
Matthews returned to Purdue’s active roster in December after missing the last two seasons due to injury to become the first individual national champion for the Boilermaker women’s swimming & diving program, claiming the 3-meter crown at the NCAA Championships. The junior is a two-time All-American in the 3-meter event and a three-time honorable mention All-American in the 1-meter. Matthews was tabbed a second-team All-Big Ten honoree after placing second on the 3-meter at the Big Ten Championships. She holds the Purdue record on the 3-meter and ranks among the top five in Boilermaker history in all three diving events. Click HERE for more information on Casey.
