Swimmer of the Week

  • Posted three first-place finishes in the season-opening dual meet against Iowa in Ann Arbor, Mich., on Sept. 27
  • Finished first in the 100-yard backstroke (55.25), 200-yard medley relay (1:41.97) and the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:26.24)
  • Three first-place finishes helped lead Michigan to a 185-111 win over the Hawkeyes
  • Earned her first Swimmer of the Week award
  • Last Michigan Swimmer of the Week: Alexa Mehesan (Jan. 17, 2013)

Diver of the Week
Carey Chen, Michigan
Jr. – Vancouver, British Columbia – University Hill Secondary

  • Placed first in the one-meter (308.85) and second in the three-meter (305.40) diving competitions against Iowa on Sept. 27
  • Scored a personal-best 308.85 on the one-meter springboard  
  • Her two dives qualified for NCAA Zone Diving standards
  • Earned her first Diver of the Week honor
  • Last Michigan Diver of the Week: Amanda Lohman (Jan. 31, 2013) 

Freshman of the Week

  • Collected four top-three finishes in dual meet against Michigan on Sept. 27
  • Finished first in the 50-yard freestyle (23.84), second in the 200-yard individual medley (2:05.87), second in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:32.51) and third in the 200-yard medley relay (1:45.92)
  • Earned her first Freshman of the Week honor
  • Last Iowa Freshman of the Week: Becky Stoughton (Jan. 31, 2013)
