PARK RIDGE, Ill. - The 2005-06 season of Big Ten women's swimming and diving takes to the pool Friday, Oct. 7, with Wisconsin hosting UW-Green Bay. Minnesota travels to Kansas to take on the Jayhawks Saturday.
Wisconsin will look to capture its fourth consecutive Top 15 finish at the NCAA Championships this season despite losing standout swimmer Carly Piper. The Badgers, who finished third in league action last season, will turn to Amanda Witte, Anna Trinidad and Susan Johnson to lead their team to another successful season.
Minnesota begins its season in Lawrence, Kan., on Saturday and looks to build off of a sixth place finish at the 2005 Big Ten Championships.
The remaining league schools begin their 2005-06 campaigns in the coming weeks.
