Minnesota Sweeps Women’s Swimming and Diving Accolades

Swimmer of the Week
Samantha Harding, Minnesota
Sr. – Las Cruces, N.M. – Las Cruces
• Claimed a pair of first-place finishes in the 500- and 1,000-yard freestyle events against Florida
• Recorded a time of 4:52.00 in the 500-yard freestyle and 9:53.79 in the 1,000-yard freestyle
• Times in the 500- and 1,000-yard freestyle currently rank sixth and second in the nation, respectively
• The two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree earns her first career Big Ten Swimmer of the Week award

Diver of the Week
Yu Zhou, Minnesota
Jr. – Wuhan, China – Beijing College of Sports
• Finished first in both springboard events against Florida
• Scored 336.98 points in the one-meter event and 380.03 points in the three-meter competition, recording NCAA Zone qualifying scores in both events
• Earns her fifth career Diver of the Week honor
• Last Minnesota Diver of the Week: Yu Zhou (Oct. 7, 2015)

Freshman of the Week
Rachel Munson, Minnesota
Fr. – Shorewood, Wis. – Shorewood
• Recorded a pair of first-place finishes, and added a third- and sixth-place touch versus Florida
• Finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.81) and 200-yard medley relay (1:41.42), which rank ninth and sixth in the nation, respectively
• Collected a third- and sixth-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:19.29) and 200-yard individual medley (2:09.30), respectively
• Earns her first Freshman of the Week award
