Wisconsin and Minnesota Take Home Weekly Swimming and Diving Honors

The conference office announced on Tuesday the second weekly women's swimming and diving award winners for the 2010-11 season. Wisconsin's Ashley Wanland and Minnesota's Margaret Keefer earned the nod as Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, after leading their teams to wins in weekend competition.
Women's Swimmer of the Week
Junior Ashley Wanland captured first place in three of four events, and earned three NCAA provisional times, as Wisconsin downed Iowa, 208-92, on Friday night. Wanland opened the meet as the second leg of the 200-yard medley relay team that earned an NCAA `B' time with a mark of 1:40.76. She then followed that up by sweeping both of the breaststroke events with NCAA `B' times. She won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:01.77 and then won the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:14.49.

Women's Diver of the Week
Freshman Margaret Keefer aided the Gophers to a team win with a victory in the diving well for Minnesota. The Stillwater, Minn., native took home top honors on the 1-meter board, finishing with a score of 283.80. This marks the first weekly honor for Keefer and is the first by a Gopher diver this season.
