The conference office announced on Tuesday the fourth weekly women’s swimming and diving award winners of the season for meets through Oct. 27-Nov. 2. Indiana’s Kate Fesenko collects her second-consecutive swimming accolade and Minnesota’s Kelci Bryant posted a pair of NCAA qualifying scores to earn the weekly diving laurel.
Women’s Swimmer of the Week:
Kate Fesenko, Indiana

Kate Fesenko posted four individual top-two finishes and five top-three relay finishes in last a dual meet win over Michigan at Texas last week. Fesenko improved upon her NCAA B time in the 100 back, winning in 53.30. She also bettered her provisional cut in the 200 back with a time of 1:55.56. Both are currently the fastest times in the NCAA this season. The Kharkov, Ukraine native, then posted two second-place finishes in the 200 individual medley and in the 100 fly before leading Indiana to a pair of runner-up finishes in the 200 and 400 medley relays. Fesenko also contributed to the Hoosiers’ second-place showings in the 400 and 800 free relays and swam on the the 200 free relay team, which took third. This is the second weekly swimming laurel for Fesenko in as many weeks.

Women’s Diver of the Week:
Kelci Bryant, Minnesota

In her first meet as a Golden Gopher, sophomore Kelci Bryant won both the one-meter and the three-meter competitions in Friday’s dual meet against Wisconsin. Bryant, a transfer from the University of Miami, claimed top honors in the one-meter with a score of 323.33, besting the runner-up mark by more than 65 points. She followed that performance with her second win of the night when she took the three-meter event with a score of 374.10, almost a full 70 points ahead of the second-place finisher. Both marks were good enough to qualify for NCAA zone diving competition. With the award, Bryant returns the weekly diving laurel to Minnesota for the first time since Jacqueline Schroeder accomplished the feat in November of 2007.
