Swimmer of the Week
Emily Wong, Northwestern

Wong helped the Wildcats defeat Purdue last Friday night, 177-118, beating the Boilermakers for the second time since 1999. She dominated the sprint freestyle events, clocking in at 23.67 (50-yard free), 51.67 (100 free) and 1:51.48 (200 free). Wong’s 50 and 200 freestyles are season-bests for the Nepean, Ontario, native. The junior also guided Northwestern’s 200 freestyle relay squad to a season-best and winning time of 1:34.59. Wong takes home her first career weekly Big Ten honor.

Diver of the Week
Deidre Freeman, Iowa
Jr., Grinnell, Iowa / Grinnell
Freeman swept both springboard events in an away meet against No. 12 Minnesota last Friday night. The junior exceeded NCAA standards in the one-meter, posting a 289.50 to remain undefeated in this event on the season. Off the three-meter, Freeman completed the sweep as she scored a mark of 256.95. This marks the first Big Ten Diver of the Week award for the Grinnell, Iowa, native.
