Swimmer of the Week
Jillian Tyler, Minnesota
Fr., Calgary, Alberta/ Ernest Manning

Tyler had an impressive showing at the Ohio State Invitational over the weekend, recording three NCAA `A' times and taking part in two winning relays which posted `B' times.  Her first-place mark in the 100-yard breaststroke (59.82) ranks her second in Big Ten history, narrowly missing the conference record of 59.77 (Kristen Woodring, 2/16/01).  Tyler's 200 breaststroke time of 2:10.44 places her third on the all-time Big Ten performance list.  The freshman's final individual crown came in the 200 individual medley, clocking in at 1:58.97 which moves her into seventh all-time in the Big Ten.  Tyler's participation in the 400 medley relay aided the Gopher squad to a new school record (3:39.40).  In her first year of collegiate competition, the Calgary native has claimed two Big Ten Swimmer of the Week laurels.
