Co-Swimmers of the Week

Christine Kuczek, Iowa
Jr., Deerfield, Ill. / Deerfield

Kuczek helped the Hawkeyes defeat rival Iowa State by a score of 196-104 in the fifth annual Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk series this past Friday.  The junior topped both the 100- and 200-yard freestyle fields, touching the wall at 51.81 and 1:52.54, respectively.  Her 50 freestyle time of 24.13 was good enough for second place behind teammate Julie deBruin by fifteen-hundredths of a second.  Kuczek picks up her first career weekly accolade.

Heather Kiluk, Michigan State
Sr., Libertyville, Ill. / Libertyville

Kiluk racked up two first-place finishes in a 158-138 dual meet victory against Ball State this past Saturday.  Her winning time of 2:06.19 in the 200-yard butterfly serves as the team’s second-fastest time of the year as Kiluk earned her first career win in the event.  Her time of 5:03.65 in the 500 freestyle was over 10 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. Kiluk garners her first career Big Ten Swimmer of the Week award.

Diver of the Week

Danielle Williams, Michigan State
Sr., Dorchester, Ont. / Clarke Road Secondary

Williams collected two first-place finishes this past Saturday in a dual meet victory over Ball State, 158-138.  Off the one-meter board, the senior posted a 300.45 and from the three-meter height, Williams totaled a 329.34.  Both scores qualified the Dorchester, Ontario, native for the NCAA Zone Diving Meet in March as she dominated both events by over 30 points each.  Williams takes home her fourth Big Ten Diver of the Week award.
