Michigan senior Denise Muresan earns her second career Big Ten Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week honor and the first awarded by the conference in 2011 after winning the singles title at the Michigan Invitational over the weekend. Muresan, ranked 11th in the country individually, began the weekend with a 6-0, 7-5 victory over sixth-ranked Denise Dy of Washington. She followed with a 7-6, 6-2 victory over 39th-ranked Jillian O'Neill of Georgia Tech before defeating Tennessee's Natalie Pluskota, 6-4, 6-2, to finish 3-0 and earn the title. Muresan also teamed with Brooke Bolender to win two doubles matches. The duo defeated Washington's Lina Xu and Vanja Radunovic, 8-2, and 36th-ranked Elizabeth Kilborn and Lynn Blau of Georgia Tech, 8-4.
