Rutgers Earns First Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week Award of 2018 Season

Scarlet Knights’ Jaci Cochrane claims weekly conference honor

 

Athlete of the Week

Jaci Cochrane, Rutgers
So. – Fort Dodge, Iowa – Fort Dodge

  • Won the Singles Draw C title and advanced to the Doubles Draw A final at the NJIT Invitational last week
  • Led Rutgers with a 4-0 singles record and also went 2-1 in doubles for the tournament
  • Won all four singles matches in straight sets and dropped two or less games in six of the eight sets
  • Won two doubles matches before falling to teammates Mingxiu Du and Kat Muzik in the finals
  • Earns the first Athlete of the Week award of her career
  • Becomes the first Rutgers student in school history to earn Big Ten Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week
