Lee went 3-0 and was crowned champion of the 2008 Hawkeye Invitational Singles Tournament on Jan. 26.  The Canton, Ohio native dominated all weekend, winning each of her three matches in straight sets.  In her first match, she defeated Northern Iowa's Meghana Paritala, 6-2, 6-0.  She then went on to defeat Iowa State's Erin Karonis, 6-0, 6-4.  In the finale to earn the tournament championship, Lee took down Drake's Veronike Leszayova, 6-2, 6-2.  This is Lee's first career weekly accolade.

Kardhordo helped Wisconsin jumpstart to 2-0 on the season with wins in both singles and doubles in two duals over the weekend.  Against Eastern Michigan, Kardhordo notched a win in No. 2 singles over Sandra Wikstrom, 7-5, 6-4, 1-0.  She then teamed with Liz Carpenter for a victory at No. 1 singles against the Eagles.  In the match versus Northern Illinois, Kardhordo won in straight sets (7-5, 6-3) at No. 2 singles over Katie Friedlund.  She and Carpenter teamed up once again to defeat the NIU tandem of Lilian Asuaje and Brooke Forsberg, 8-2.  This is Kardhordo's first career weekly honor.
