Veselinovic led the Hawkeyes to two wins this weekend. The 58th-ranked Hawkeyes defeated No. 69 Furman, 6-1, and upset 57th-ranked Alabama, 4-3. In addition to her singles wins, Veselinovic and Jacqueline Lee defeated Lauren Tomory and Lauren Osborne of Furman in doubles play, 8-3. Iowa's record improves to 3-3 with the two wins.

Christine Bader, Michigan State

Spartan junior Christine Bader advanced her singles record to 6-1, playing exclusively at No. 1 for Michigan State. In addition to picking up two-set victories in singles over opponents from Miami (Ohio) and Ball State, Bader finished the weekened 1-1 in doubles. At No. 1, Bader competed with Stephanie Kebler to secure the Spartans the double point with an 8-3 win over Katrina Lomidze and Linda Jirouskova of Miami. The senior co-captain has helped her team to a 7-0 start, the best MSU opening mark since the 1998-99 squad began the dual match season 6-0.
