Thompson is now 7-2 on the season at No. 1 singles, after defeating Toledo's Myriam Cueva, 6-0, 6-0.  In the Cleveland State match, Thompson was tested by Sarah Galon in both sets. After capturing the first set 6-4, Thompson struggled at the beginning of the second set, but still pulled off a 6-2 victory to clinch the point. The Spartan senior, who also teamed up for 8-2 and 8-4 doubles victories over Toledo and Cleveland State, respectively, has now helped Michigan State capture seven consecutive victories at home.

This is Thompson's first career Big Ten Athlete of the Week honor.
