Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week

Blackmore won eight matches last week in singles and doubles and helped Ohio State to four dual wins in women's tennis competition last week including a clinching point in singles and doubles against Eastern Michigan and another doubles clinching point against Cleveland State.  In singles play, Blackmore scored her first win of the week against Natalia Baez of No. 50 Louisville, 5-7, 6-3, 1-0 (10-5) at No. 4 Singles.  Against Cleveland State she won in straight sets over Sandra Bjelan, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 Singles.  In her final two No. 3 Singles matches of the week, the junior won both in straight sets over Cornell's Tamara John (6-0, 6-4) and Eastern Michigan's Sandra Wikstrom (6-2, 6-1).  This is Blackmore's first career weekly laurel.
