Northwestern's Mosolova Earns Weekly Women's Tennis Award

Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week Maria Mosolova receives Big Ten Athlete of the Week recognition after leading No. 9 Northwestern to a 7-0 sweep of No. 24 Texas on Saturday. Mosolova, ranked 25th in the country in singles, picked up a 7-5, 7-6 win at No. 1 singles against No. 16 Aeriel Ellis. Prior to her singles contest, Mosolova and Elena Chernyakova dropped a close 9-7 match at No. 2 doubles to Ellis and Krista Damico, but Northwestern still won the doubles point en route to the sweep. The win pushed Mosolova's dual-match singles record to 8-0 this season and helped the Wildcats earn their second straight dual win.
