Lauren Lui garners her first weekly laurel of the 2009 campaign after posting an unblemished 4-0 slate and aiding Northwestern to a pair of road wins against Big Ten foes in the opening week of conference play. The Wildcat junior continued to excel in her role at No. 1 doubles alongside teammate Georgia Rose as the duo downed 44th-ranked Liz Carpenter and Angela Chupa in NU's Big Ten opener at Wisconsin on Wednesday. She also moved up a spot from her usual No. 4 position to beat Aleksandra Markovic in straight sets, 6-2, and 6-0. Her singles victory at Michigan State on Saturday improved her career record in Big Ten dual matches to 22-0 and upped her season record to 23-9 overall.
