Rika Tatsuno, Michigan

Rika Tatsuno won three of her four matches to help the Wolverines stay undefeated in Big Ten action with home wins over Minnesota and Iowa over the weekend. In Saturday's 5-2 victory over the Golden Gophers, Tatsuno supplied Michigan its first point thanks to a dominating 6-3, 6-0 decision over Karina Chiarelli at No. 1 singles. In Sunday's 6-1 triumph over the Hawkeyes, Tatsuno and teammate Whitney Taney completed a U-M doubles sweep with an 8-7(4) win over Kelcie Klockenga and Lynne Poggensee-Wei at No. 2. Tatsuno closed out the match with a 7-6(7), 6-4 victory over Alexis Door at No. 2 singles. Tatsuno has won three straight singles matches and leads the team in overall singles wins with 17. She is also tied for the team lead in dual-match singles victories with eight. Tatsuno and Taney hold a team-best 6-4 record in dual-match play. This is the second weekly award for Tatsuno who garnered her first laurel earlier this season.
