The top-ranked Northwestern women's tennis team will face fourth-seeded Ohio State in the semifinal round of the Big Ten Tournament at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison, Wis., at 10 a.m. (CT). NU enters the third round on the heels of a 4-0 win over No. 8 Minnesota while OSU topped No. 5 Indiana, 4-1 in the quarterfinal match on Friday. The Wildcats swept the Buckeyes, 7-0 in the last meeting between the two teams on April 18.
Second-seeded Michigan will vie against No. 3 Illinois for a chance to compete in the tournament final in Saturday's afternoon match, slated for a 2 p.m. (CT) start. The Wolverines advanced with a 4-0 victory over tournament host Wisconsin, while the Illini rolled past Purdue, 4-1 to earn a spot in the third round. U-M capped off the regular season with a 6-1 triumph over Illinois on April 19 in Champaign, Ill., to secure the No. 2 seed in the Big Ten Tournament.
