NCAA Women's Tennis Singles & Doubles Championships Underway

The NCAA Women's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships have begun in Athens, Ga. Three Big Ten singles players and two conference doubles pairs will compete in the national tournament with singles action slated to begin today and doubles starting on Thursday.
Michigan's Emina Bektas, seeded in the No. 9-16 group, kicks off the first-round slate, taking on Tennessee's Kata Szekely at 10 a.m. ET. The Big Ten matches up against two California Golden Bears in the afternoon. Northwestern's Kate Turvy squares off with No. 6 Jana Juricova at 12:30 p.m. and Nebraska's Mary Weatherholt takes on Zsofi Susanyi (No. 9-16) at 1 p.m.
In the doubles draw, Michigan's Bektas and Brooke Bolender meet USC's fourth-ranked duo of Kaitlyn Christian and Sabrina Santamaria and Northwestern's Linda Abu Mushrefova and Nida Hamilton take on Florida's Lauren Embree and Joanna Mather in the opening round.
