Big Ten Eliminated from NCAA Singles Championship

Three Big Ten women's tennis players were eliminated today in the first round of the NCAA Singles Championships. Michigan's Emina Bektas fell to Tennessee's Kata Szekely (6-4, 7-5), Northwestern's Kate Turvy lost to California's Jana Juricova (6-3, 6-1) and Nebraska's Mary Weatherholt fell to California's Zsofi Susanyi (6-4, 7-5).

The doubles championship is slated for Thursday as Michigan's Bektas and Brooke Bolender and Northwestern's Linda Abu Mushrefova and Nida Hamilton look to make a run in the championships.
