STANFORD, Calif. - All three Big Ten women's tennis players chosen to the NCAA Singles Championship moved on to the second round after first-round victories on Wednesday. Indiana's Leslie Hureau, Michigan's Denise Muresan and Northwestern's Maria Mosolova each picked up three-set wins to move on to Thursday's second round.

Hureau defeated Tennessee's Brynn Boren, 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) to advance to the second round, where she will meet Arkansas' Anouk Tigu at Noon PT.

After also dropping the first set, eighth-seeded Muresan battled back to take down Wake Forest's Martina Pavelec, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2. Muresan moves on face Georgia's Chelsey Gullickson in Round 2 at 10 a.m.

Mosolova, seeded in the No. 9-16 group, picked up a 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 victory over Miami's Anna Bartenstein. The Wildcat senior advances to play South Florida's Irene Rehberger in the second round at 1 p.m.

Thursday's action will also include the first round of the doubles championship, where three Big Ten pairs will compete for a national title.
