STANFORD, Calif. - Two Big Ten singles players and one conference doubles pair earned wins in the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships on Thursday, advancing to the Round of 16 in their respective tournaments. Indiana's Leslie Hureau and Northwestern's Maria Mosolova picked up second-round wins to move on in the singles tournament while the Wildcats' Linda Abu Mushrefova and Nida Hamilton advanced to the Round of 16 in the doubles tournament.

After falling in the first set to Arkansas' Anouk Tigu, Hureau took the next two to earn a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 win in the second round of the Singles Championship. The Hoosier senior will square off against Florida's Lauren Embree at 1 p.m. PT on Friday. Mosolova picked up a straight-set, 6-4, 6-3 win over South Florida's Irene Rehberger to advance to Round 3. She will meet third-seeded Hilary Barte of Stanford at 11:30 a.m. Eighth-seeded Denise Muresan of Michigan fell to Georgia's Chelsey Gullickson, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3, to eliminate her from contention.

In doubles action, Abu Mushrefova and Hamilton picked up a 4-6, 6-0, 6-2 victory against Maryland's Cristina Sanchez-Quintanar and Jordaan Sanford to move on to the Round of 16. The Wildcat pair will take on UCLA's Courtney Dolehide and Andrea Remynse at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.

Iowa's Sonja Molnar and Jessica Young fell to Arkansas' Claudine Paulson and Tigu, 5-7, 7-6 (5), 6-2, while Michigan's No. 5-8 seed Brooke Bolender and Muresan dropped a 6-3, 6-2 contest to Georgia's Kate Fuller and Gullickson to bow out of the tournament.

Friday's singles matches begin at 10 a.m., while doubles contests get underway at 2:30 p.m.
