Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Tiffany Ofili, Michigan

Jr., Ypsilanti, Mich./Ypsilanti

Ofili earned an NCAA automatic qualifying time in the 60-meter hurdles finishing second in 8.05 sec. which ties a personal and Michigan indoor best.  The junior also placed third in the 200m. dash setting another personal best with a time of 24.32.  This is Ofili's second career weekly honor.

Last MICH Track Athlete of the Week: Nicole Edwards (02/13/07)

Veronica Jatsek, Ohio State

Sr., Walton Hills, Ohio/Trinity

Jatsek threw an NCAA provisional distance in the 20-lb. weight throw at the Kentucky Invitational last weekend measuring 67-11.5 (20.71m).  The Buckeye senior won the event by nearly eight feet over the second-place competitor.  Jatsek is honored with her second career weekly award.

Alicia Rue, Minnesota

So., Plymouth, Minn./Armstrong

Rue won the pole vault event at the Northwest Open with a NCAA provisional height of 12-11.5 (3.95m).  Her performance marks an indoor career-best and second-best in school history.  The sophomore takes home her first career weekly laurel.
