Ohio State and Penn State Earn Weekly Track and Field Awards

The conference office announced on Wednesday the weekly women's outdoor track and field awards. Ohio State's Letecia Wright was recognized as Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week, while Penn State's Karlee McQuillen earns Field Athlete of the Week.
Track Athlete of the Week:
Letecia Wright earned her second consecutive weekly award after two first-place finishes last weekend at the Jim Click Shootout. In the 100 meter hurdles, Wright finished with a time of 12.94, setting a new personal record while running the second-fastest time in the country and third-fastest in school history. The senior was also a member of the 4x100 relay team that placed first, crossing the finish line at 44.70. The relay mark leads the conference so far this season.

Field Athlete of the Week:
Karlee McQuillen finished first among collegiate participants and second overall in the javelin last weekend at the Florida Relays, posting a throw of 48.78 meters (160-0). The effort currently ranks first in the Big Ten and 12th in the country. This is McQuillen's second weekly award of her career and first for the Nittany Lions this season.
