Ohio State and Indiana Earn Conference Recognition

Track Athlete of the Week: Ohio State earns its second consecutive weekly award after Kelsey McHugh finished first in the 5,000-meter run last weekend at the Miami Invitational. McHugh finished with a time of 16:46.83, setting a new personal record while running the ninth-fastest time in the conference this season. This is McHugh's first weekly award of her career and third for the Buckeyes this season. Last Ohio State Track Athlete of the Week: Letecia Wright (April 6, 2011) Field Athlete of the Week: Vera Neuenswander finished first in the pole vault last weekend as the Hoosiers teamed with Notre Dame to win 103-96 against Louisville and Kentucky. Neuenswander cleared 4.25 meters (13-11.25), the only competitor at the meet to surpass the 13-feet mark for the win. Her effort ranks eighth nationally and first in the Big Ten so far this season.
