Indiana and Ohio State Collect Weekly Women's Track and Field Honors

Track Athlete of the Week: Ohio State's Letecia Wright took first place in the 100-meter hurdles and helped the Buckeye 4x100-meter relay team to second place at the Drake Relays over the weekend en route to her second weekly honor of the outdoor season. Wright's winning time of 12.87 in the hurdles was also the best time in the Big Ten and the fourth-best time in the country this season and is the third-best time in Ohio State history. Wright also led the 4x100-meter relay team to a time of 43.93, good for second place at the event. Last Ohio State Track Athlete of the Week: Kelsey McHugh (April 13, 2011) Field Athlete of the Week: Indiana's Faith Sherrill earned a first-place finish in the shot put at the Penn Relays over the weekend, breaking the Hoosier record with a throw of 17.64 meters. Sherrill's throw marked the longest in the Big Ten and second-longest in the country this season. The Hoosier senior's toss was also the eighth-best throw in the 117-year history of the Penn Relays. She also competed in the discus, placing third with a throw of 48.52 meters.
