Indiana and Penn State Athletes Garner Final Awards of the Season

Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Molly Beckwith, Indiana
Beckwith set a new standard of excellence for half-milers this season, running an NCAA-leading time of 2:02.51 at the Billy Hayes Invitational. Her time ranks as the third-fastest by an American during the outdoor season this year and set a new IU track record. She now appears second on Indiana’s all-time list and bettered the 800-meter regional qualifying standard by over seven seconds. Beckwith earns her first Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week laurel.

Kim Hanslovan, Penn State
Hanslovan launched a new school record in the javelin this past Saturday at the Penn State with her first-place throw of 178-04 (54.35m.). The sophomore’s career-best mark currently ranks fifth in the country, second in the conference and first among East Regional competitors. Hanslovan tallies her first weekly Big Ten honor.
