The first day of competition at the 2009 NCAA Track and Field Championships has concluded with many Big Ten student-athletes advancing in their respective events.  Weather delayed the meet for nearly three hours as thunderstorms surrounded Fayetteville, causing a few races to be run well after midnight.  Action starts back up at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday morning with the prelims of the women's discus.
