ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference will be featured prominently on the airwaves during the 2018 fall season, with at least 81 games across four sports scheduled to be televised by the conference’s television partners on the Big Ten Network and FS1. Additional games could be selected for broadcast by another Big Ten television partner, ESPN, with that announcement to come at a later date.
The Big Ten volleyball television schedule features at least 33 matches televised live on BTN (the last six being late-season wild card selections that will be announced at a later date), and highlighted by eight doubleheader broadcasts.
No fewer than 37 Big Ten soccer games will be televised this season (19 men and 18 women), with 36 on BTN and the conference’s first men’s soccer appearance on FS1 on Aug. 31, when Stanford visits Maryland. Part of BTN’s coverage will include the Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Soccer Tournaments, with the network carrying one quarterfinal from a campus site (Oct. 28 for the women, Nov. 4 for the men), as well as both tournaments’ semifinals and championship games (Nov. 2 and 4 for the women, Nov. 9 and 11 for the men).
There will also be 11 Big Ten field hockey games slated for television in 2018, with all 11 contests broadcast on BTN. This package includes four Big Ten Tournament games — an Oct. 28 quarterfinal from a campus site, as well as the tournament semifinals (Nov. 2) and championship game (Nov. 4) from Northwestern’s Lakeside Field in Evanston, Illinois.
All 14 Big Ten schools will be featured during the conference’s fall sports television schedule, with BTN and FS1 broadcasts also streamed through the BTN2Go digital platform and the FOX Sports mobile app. Additional Big Ten fall sports contests may be televised on BTN Plus, with information on those broadcasts will be made available on BTN2Go.com at a later date.
