DeBruler takes home her sixth career Player of the Week honor after earning MVP accolades at the State Farm Illini Classic over the weekend. The junior led her team to wins over Cincinnati, Illinois State and No. 16 St. Louis, averaging 6.3 kills per set on .419 hitting with 2.5 digs per set. Against the Bearcats on Friday, DeBruler put down 19 kills on .441 hitting with eight digs and a block in a three-set victory. The next day versus the Redbirds, she hit .517 with 16 kills and seven digs and a block in a sweep. In the finale against the Billikens that same day, the Downers Grove, Ill., native tallied 28 kills on .361 hitting with 10 saves, giving her 29 20-kill matches in her career, tying the school record. The 28-kill total was just five off the tournament record and three off DeBruler’s personal best.

DEFENSE

Cox takes home defensive accolades after leading Indiana to a 4-0 record at the Hampton Inn Invitational in Athens, Ohio, over the weekend. Cox was named the tournament’s MVP after tallying 5.2 digs per set, receiving serves at a .990 clip and holding opponents to a .193 hitting percentage. Cox dug 88 hits over the weekend, including three matches with dig totals of 20 or more. She committed her lone service error in the first match of the weekend before converting on her next 92 opportunities, passing 99 of 100 service opportunities successfully over the weekend. Cox also contributed two aces and 14 assists as the Hoosiers posted wins over Delaware, Eastern Kentucky, Missouri State and Ohio, who is receiving votes in the latest national poll. The weekly award is the first of her career.

FRESHMAN

Haverly averaged 4.5 kills per set as the Hoosiers went 4-0 at the Hampton Inn Invitational last weekend. The freshman also contributed 2.4 digs and 0.5 blocks per set on the weekend. She posted a pair of double-doubles in the tournament with 17 kills and 13 digs against Delaware in the opener before concluding the weekend with a career-high 28 kills and 12 saves versus Missouri State.
