Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State Garner Weekly Honors

Player of the Week: Hunt earned Most Valuable Player status at the ASU Sheraton Tournament after leading the Wolverines to a 3-0 record and the tournament title over the weekend. The junior outside hitter recorded 20-plus kill performances against Arizona State, Utah and Pacific and finished with a .488 hitting percentage. Hunt recorded 22 kills against Arizona State, 23 versus Utah and 23 in the tournament finale against Pacific, good for an average of 5.7 kills per set against the three opponents. She added 2.1 digs and 0.6 blocks per set to claim her first Big Ten Player of the Week honor. Last Michigan Player of the Week: Juliana Paz (Nov. 23, 2009) Defensive Player of the Week: Booth records her first Defensive Player of the Week distinction after anchoring the Buckeye defense in three victories over the weekend at the Kennesaw State Tournament. Averaging 1.9 blocks per set, the sophomore was a part of an Ohio State defense that limited its opponents to .013 hitting on the weekend. Her standout effort came against Presbyterian in the tournament opener, where she finished with 11 blocks. Booth is averaging 1.31 blocks per set this season, which ranks fifth in the conference. Last Ohio State Defensive Player of the Week: Allie Schwarzwalder (Sept. 13, 2010) Freshman of the Week: McClendon takes home her second Freshman of the Week honor after helping Penn State to a 3-0 record at the Rockvale Outlets Classic over the weekend. The freshman finished second on the team in kills during the three-match stretch, averaging 3.1 per set on .524 hitting. Her best effort of the weekend came against George Washington on Friday, finishing with 15 kills with a .636 hitting percentage, adding six digs and four blocks.
