Big Ten Honors Conference Players of the Week

Player of the Week:
DeBruler wins her first Big Ten Player of the Week honor this season and the eighth of her career after becoming Illinois’ all-time leader in kills last week. With 26 kills against Wisconsin, she broke the all-time Illini mark of 1,761. With 21 more against Northwestern, she brought her career total to 1,804. She also posted double-digit dig totals in both matches last week, finishing with 15 against Wisconsin and 28 versus Northwestern. This week, the senior averaged 5.2 kills and 4.8 digs per set to help Illinois remain unbeaten in Big Ten play.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Granquist wins her second Big Ten weekly conference honor of the season after helping the Gophers to a pair of wins over the weekend. She totaled 50 digs in Minnesota’s matches against Purdue and Indiana, and helped the Minnesota offense to a .269 hitting percentage. She finished with a career-high 38 digs against the Boilermakers and added 12 versus the Hoosiers. Averaging 7.1 digs per set, the junior libero and the Gopher defense limited opponents to .175 hitting on the weekend.

Freshman of the Week:
Bonilla wins the second Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor of her career, having been named Freshman of the Week on Sept. 6. The libero finished the week with a 6.6 digs per set, totaling 32 against Wisconsin and 27 in a match with Northwestern. She was successful on 71 of 73 service reception attempts and was a part of an Illinois defense that held opponents to a .139 hitting percentage last week.
