Ohio State's Main and Penn State's Walters Tabbed Players of the Week

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
While leading Ohio State to a pair of victories, Main produced her second triple-double (11 kills, 47 assists, 10 digs) of the season against Michigan. The junior setter hit a season-high .786 (11-0-14) against the Wolverines and added two assist blocks. The previous night against Michigan State, she had seven kills, 56 assists, an ace serve, three digs and four total blocks (one solo, three assists).
On the weekend, Main was the Buckeyes' top hitter at .500 (18-3-30) and totaled 103 assists for an average of 14.71 per game. Main ran a balanced offense by helping four players with double-figure kills against both Michigan and Michigan State.
This is Main's first career Player of the Week award.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
En route to helping the No. 4 Nittany Lions to a pair of three-game sweeps, Walters became Penn State's career digs leader with her second dig versus Michigan on Friday night. She ended the night with 11 digs and added 17 more against Michigan State on Saturday night to end the weekend with 28 digs, putting her at 1,712 for her career and fourth on the Big Ten's all-time career digs list.
Her passing helped the Nittany Lions attack at a combined .352 clip for the weekend with five players reaching double-digit kills. Walters was nearly perfect on the receiving in, recording only one error in 49 reception attempts.
This is Walters' third Defensive Player of the Week honor this season and her career. This week's award marks the ninth occasion in Big Ten history a player has received three weekly honors in a single season.
