ROSEMONT, Ill. – For the second-straight week, Penn State was voted No. 1 in the latest coaches poll released by the American Volleyball Association on Monday afternoon. The Nittany Lions are joined by five other Big Ten programs in the top 25.
Since the 2012 season, four Big Ten schools have been ranked No. 1 in the AVCA coaches poll a total of 45 weeks: Minnesota, Nebraska, Penn State and Wisconsin. During that span, the Nittany Lions have earned the top spot 23 times.
Following top-ranked Penn State, is Minnesota at No. 5 in the poll. Nebraska ranks seventh, while Wisconsin checks in at No. 9. Michigan State is ranked 10th followed by Purdue at 17th. Illinois and Michigan are receiving votes in the poll.
