Anderson propelled Northwestern offensively to its best weekend of the year. Her team-best sixth double-double and season-high 19 kills helped Northwestern overcome an 0-2 deficit for the first time since 1993 to defeat No. 15 Purdue Friday night.

She followed that up with the second-best match of her career Saturday night against Illinois, upping her season-high for kills to 23 -- the best total for any Wildcat this season. Her .356 average against Illinois helped NU hit .324 as a team - its best team-total in Big Ten play this season.

This is the first career weekly honor for Anderson.

CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Gentil earns Defensive Player of the Week after averaging 7.50 digs per game and 0.50 aces per game in two victories against Michigan and Michigan State this past week.

She had a season-high 35 digs against the Wolverines and also posted three service aces.  It was the sixth time on the season that Gentil had three or more aces against an opponent on the season.  Gentil posted 25 digs in four games against Michigan State marking the 70th time in 71 matches she tallied double-figure digs.

In her first match after becoming NU's career-leader in digs at No. 3 Penn State, Gardner set the school's single-match record with 36 against No. 15 Purdue. She now holds the NU single-match, single-season and career records for digs. She made three digs on a marathon 14th point in the deciding fifth game against Purdue, helping Northwestern overcome an 0-2 deficit in a match for the first time since 1993. Saturday against Illinois, she helped NU hit .324 as a team -- its best total in Big Ten play this year -- with 17 more digs. The Wildcats swept the season series with Illinois for the first time since 2002.
