PARK RIDGE, Ill. - The Penn State Nittany Lions clinched their eighth straight Big Ten Championship and 14th overall, after a three-set win over Iowa on Friday afternoon in Iowa City, Iowa. Penn State also claimed the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Championship, which begins next week. Penn State clinched a share of the Big Ten title with its win against Iowa, then earned the outright title after Indiana knocked off Illinois on Friday night.

Against the Hawkeyes, three Nittany Lions' posted double-digit kills in the 25-18, 25-13, 25-20 win, led by senior Blair Brown's 17. Freshman Deja McClendon and senior Arielle Wilson finished with 13 and 10, respectively. The defending conference champions attached at a .364 clip, while holding the Iowa offense to .149 hitting.

The final matches of the 2010 regular season will be held Friday and Saturday nights, with the 2010 NCAA Championship field set to be announced on Sunday afternoon. The 2010 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship selection show is scheduled to air between 3 and 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPNews.
