No. 1 Penn State Bounced by No. 5 Oregon in NCAA Semifinal Tilt
The top-seeded Penn State volleyball team fell to No. 5 Oregon in four sets (25-21, 28-30, 22-25, 19-25) at the KFC Yum! Center on Thursday. The Nittany Lions secured the first set, but Oregon won the next three en route to the national championship match. Oregon will face No. 3 Texas on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
Michigan Falls to No. 3 Texas in National Semifinals
Junior Lexi Erwin had 26 kills on 87 swings, and the University of Michigan volleyball team won sets two and three against No. 3 Texas, but the Longhorns had a strong start and finish in the fifth and deciding set to win, 3-2, on Thursday (Dec. 13) in the NCAA Tournament national semifinal in front of 13,385 fans at the KFC Yum! Center. Set scores were 25-11, 21-25, 23-25, 25-12 and 15-11.
Michigan and Penn State are set to compete in the NCAA Championship semifinals today after winning their respective regionals. The Wolverines swept Michigan State and upset No. 2 seed Stanford, 3-1, to take the Berkeley Regional, while No. 1 Penn State swept No. 16 Kentucky and took down No. 8 Minnesota in four sets to secure the West Lafayette Regional. Thursday's first semifinal features the Wolverines taking on No. 3 Texas at 7 p.m. ET, while the Nittany Lions and No. 5 Oregon follow at 9 p.m. Both semifinal matches, along with the national championship match, can be seen live on ESPN2 and ESPN3.com.
Michigan Upends No. 2 Stanford in Regional Final
The University of Michigan volleyball team clinched the program's first-ever NCAA Final Four appearance with a 20-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-20 upset win over No. 2 Stanford on Saturday night (Dec. 8) at Haas Pavilion. The triumph marks U-M's third NCAA Tournament victory over a top-six ranked Cardinal squad in the past four seasons.
Huskers Start Strong but Fall to Oregon
The fifth-seeded Oregon Ducks advanced to the first NCAA Semifinals in school history, rallying from a slow start to post a 3-1 victory over the fourth-seeded Nebraska volleyball team in front of 9,382 fans at the CenturyLink Center. The Huskers dominated the first set of the regional final in a 25-15 victory, but the Ducks won the next three sets, 25-22, 25-18 and 25-17.
No. 1 Penn State Advances to National Semifinals with 3-1 Win Against No. 8 Minnesota
The No. 1 seed Penn State women's volleyball team (33-2) advanced to the NCAA Women's Volleyball National Semifinals with a 3-1 (25-19, 19-25, 26-24, 25-20) win against eighth-seeded Minnesota. The Nittany Lions have advanced to the National Semifinals five times in the last six seasons.
Wolverines Defeat Michigan State to Reach NCAA Regional Final
The University of Michigan volleyball team blew past Michigan State in three sets (25-16, 26-24, 26-24) on Friday night (Dec. 7), clinching its second-ever appearance in the NCAA Elite Eight. U-M will face second-ranked Stanford in the regional final Saturday (Dec. 8) at 8:30 p.m. PST at Haas Pavilion.
Nebraska Sweeps Washington to Advance to Regional Final
The fourth-seeded Nebraska volleyball team handed No. 13 seed Washington its only sweep of the season, defeating the Huskies 25-14, 25-21, 25-23 in front of 8,954 fans at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha on Friday in an NCAA Regional Semifinal.
Gophers Move to Elite Eight With a Four-Set Win Over Purdue
The University of Minnesota volleyball team advanced to the Elite Eight as the Golden Gophers defeated host Purdue in four sets, tonight in West Lafayette, Ind. The Gophers (27-7) fell in the first set, 23-25, but came back and won the next three, 26-24, 25-23, 25-21. Minnesota plays No. 1 seed Penn State tomorrow at 4 pm ET, 3 p.m CT and will be televised on ESPNU.

The No. 1 Penn State women's volleyball team (32-2) earned a 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-12) win against No. 16 seed Kentucky in the NCAA Regional Semifinal hosted by Purdue University. The Nittany Lions play in the regional championship on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 4 p.m. against No. 8 Minnesota.
Big Ten teams are set to compete in NCAA Championship regionals today, with six squads advancing to the tournament's Sweet 16 for the third consecutive season. The six regional qualifying teams also marks the most of any conference. Michigan State Stuns Defending National Champ UCLA, 3-1
Michigan State (25-9) beat defending National Champion UCLA (23-8) 3-1 on Saturday night at Pauley Pavilion. The Spartans advanced to the Sweet 16 by topping the Bruins by scores of 25-17, 29-27, 18-25 and 25-22. Lauren Wicinski paced MSU with 23 kills on the night and Kori Moster notched 28 digs for MSU. Taylor Galloway recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 11 kills and 11 digs.

Purdue (23-10) won a five-set thriller over No. 9 seed Florida State, coming from behind in the final set to secure a spot in the Sweet 16 and a regional played at home in Mackey Arena. The 25-20, 21-25, 25-21, 23-25, 15-11 win gave Purdue its sixth Sweet 16 berth in the last eight seasons.

All seven Big Ten teams participating in the NCAA Championship compete in first- or second-round matches on Friday. Five teams open tournament play with matches on Friday, while two others continue their run with second-round contests. Purdue opens tonight's slate with its opening-round tilt against Colorado State at 4:30 p.m. ET. Ohio State follows with its first-round contest against Notre Dame at 5 p.m., while Michigan-No. 10 Louisville, No. 8 Minnesota-Liberty and No. 1 Penn State-Binghamton are each set for 7:30 p.m. Fourth-seeded Nebraska hosts Northern Iowa in the second round at 8 p.m., while Michigan State takes on San Diego at 8:30 p.m. in an opening-round matchup.
