AUSTIN, Texas - Senior All-American Mira Topic (Kastela Kambelovac, Croatia) overcame her early struggles to record 22 kills, and sophomore Dariam Acevedo (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) stepped up with 12 timely kills and 12 digs as sixth-seeded and 11th ranked Texas advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Volleyball Tournament with a 30-19, 30-27, 23-30, 30-28 victory over Michigan in the sub-regional final at Gregory Gym on Saturday night.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State (29-3 overall) women's volleyball team defeated Ohio (29-3) 3-0 (30-25, 30-20, 30-20) in second round action of the NCAA Championships held in St. John Arena on the Ohio State campus. The seventh-ranked Buckeyes stopped 25th-ranked Ohio's 23-match winning streak. The fifth-seeded Buckeyes advance to the Minneapolis Regional where they will face 12th-seed Tennessee (32-2) Friday, Dec. 10 in the Sports Pavilion on the University of Minnesota campus.

University Park, Pa., The third-ranked Penn State women's volleyball team defeated Maryland in three games (34-32, 30-27, 31-29) Saturday night to advance to the NCAA Regional Semifinal match for the second year in a row and the 17th time in 24 NCAA Tournament appearances. Penn State improves to 29-2 with the win and will take on UCLA on Friday, Dec. 10 in Seattle, Wash. The other Regional Semifinal match will pit St. Mary's versus the winner of Washington-Kansas, being played tonight.

MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin volleyball team earned a trip to NCAA Regionals with a 36-34, 30-16, 30-16 win over Notre Dame in the UW Field House Saturday night. The Badgers advance to the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 2001 with a 21-9 overall record while the Irish finish their year at 21-9.
