ROSEMONT, Ill. – Top-seed Nebraska and second-seeded Minnesota advanced to the 2016 NCAA Women's Volleyball Tournament semifinals on Saturday. The Golden Gophers will face Stanford in next week's Final Four, while the Huskers will take on Texas.
Minnesota took down UCLA, 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-22). Sarah Wilhite knocked down 15 kills, while Dalianliz Rosado tallied 17 digs. Samantha Seliger-Swenson totaled 35 assists.
Nebraska defeated Washington, 3-0 (25-16, 25-10, 25-21), behind a 15-kill performance by Andie Malloy. Justine Wong-Orantes tallied 13 digs and Kelly Hunter posted 36 assists.
The national semifinals will be held at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, next Thursday, while the championship match is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 17. All matches will be televised on ESPN2.
