Northwestern and Penn State Earn Weekly Women's Cross Country Laurels

Northwestern's Audrey Huth (pictured) and Penn State's Caitlin Lane have been named Big Ten Co-Runners of the Week.

  • Earned a first-place finish at the Valparaiso Crusader Open, turning in a 5,000-meter time of 17:56
  • Pushed the Wildcats to first place in the six-team field
  • Was the only runner in a field of more than 80 competitors to record a time below 18 minutes
  • Picks up the first weekly honor of her career

Caitlin Lane, Penn State
Sr. – Greenwich, N.Y. – Greenwich

  • Took first place in the Lock Haven Dolan Duals 4,000-meter race, crossing the tape in 13:26 to lead the Nittany Lions to a first-place finish
  • Finished 35 seconds before the rest of the field
  • Broke her own course record, previously set in 2009
  • Earns the fourth weekly award of her career
