Walter led the Wolverines for the fourth-straight time this season, finishing fourth at the NCAA Pre-Nationals, bettering her 13th place finish in 2003. Walter led all Big Ten runners in the meet, helping Michigan to a second place finish. Walter has now led Michigan in its last four scoring meets in 2004 and has been the first U-M harrier across the line in nine-straight meets, dating back to October 10, 2002.

Walter captured the Big Ten Championship last season and was named Conference Runner of the Year.
